Hello, my name is John Kaplan. I’m not surprised if you haven’t heard of me. Like so many working pro’s, I don’t have a high-profile in the magic world. The show was for Richmond Center’s annual “Santa Arrival” event (November 19, 2000). You know the gig: Santa’s first appearance of the season at a shopping mall where he’ll be residing for several weeks before Christmas so kids can get their pictures taken with him. All major malls have their Santa Claus, and they usually try to make a big event out of his initial arrival. In most areas, malls fall all over themselves competing with each other for market share. This is a good thing, because it plays the big bucks right into your hands!
Now, I’ve been doing these shows where I make Santa magically appear during a performance for many years.
I’ve produced Santa in any number of ways. There’s the double-nested Tip-Over Box (ideal for surrounded performances). There’s the Book Of Life (with “A Christmas Carol” on the cover, of course!). I’ve also used a Flash Appearance (done up as a chimney). This year, I produced Santa in his sleigh from a simple folding screen.
HOW Santa is produced isn’t important. This program will allow you to produce Santa any way you like. [Brian's Note: I just had Santa come out of a side room at the right moment. Worked perfectly!]
